French Manicure Twist

I absolutely love painting my nails in my spare time and experimenting with different colours and patterns. I always think pretty and detailed nails can look like a work of art. I am a bit of an amateur when it comes to the actual painting, but the idea is there and it doesn’t stop me enjoying spending so much time on it! My Aunt recently brought my sister and me each this really cute double nail file set!

A lot of my friends hate filing their nails, but I love it! There is nothing worse than not having that smooth edge to your nail.  As well as filing my nails, I always give them a good trim using my Jack Wills nail scissors and also use a cuticle cutter which I brought from Amazon.

I am a massive fan of Rimmel London nail polish and have a huge collection of different colours. I find the paint lasts a very long time with a double coat and the choice of different polishes is amazing with the latest ‘Precious Stones’ and ‘Metal Rush’ – too much choice!

The nail polishes I chose for this particular design included the following and are shown in the same order as the image going from left to right:

NAIL TREAT Base & Top Coat Total Care Action
LYCRA Nail Tip Whitener
60 Seconds, 262 Ring a Ring O’Roses
60 Seconds, 285 Style Hunter

So, I start by painting on two coats of Style Hunter and wait for this to dry.

I have a fairly steady hand so used the Nail Tip Whitener along the edges of my nails. If you do not have such a steady hand, I have used tape before and this works really well. I love the Rimmel Nail Tip Whitener because as you can see, the brush is really thin so it is hard to go wrong!

I was going to leave my nails like this but wanted to do a quick experiment with a couple of new items I had ordered off Amazon. The first of which were these three really nice brushes. They are really thin and so are easy to use for doing designs on your nails. I decided to use the #00 brush to paint on a small heart in Ring a Ring O’Roses. I only did this on the nail on my ring finger just as a cute added extra.

I also purchased these really adorable nail gems which came in 12 cute colours to suit every occasion and nail polish! I chose to use the pale pink one and simply placed it onto the just-painted heart.

I then, as always, went over all my nails with the Base & Top Coat Total Care Action to give my nails an extra shine! Enjoy and get experimenting!

Love Always
xx
