I absolutely love Indian food; it’s my favourite with such
lovely flavours and wonderfully colourful food – yum! So, Jessell treated me to
a lovely meal for my birthday in Kensington and took me to a restaurant called
Zaika. The restaurant itself was absolutely beautiful and as much as I love
having all my own photos, I unfortunately did not manage to get one of the
interior. The first two images are from Zaika’s website so you can truly
appreciate the beauty of the restaurant!

We
arrived at the restaurant early so took a place at the bar and watched in
amazement as the bartender created the most amazing cocktails. Jessell went for
an interesting Mango and Chilli Mojito and I stuck to my usual Cosmo! We looked
on as he cut up fresh chillies and strawberries and we were soon presented with
his creations. We were then escorted to our table. The name Zaika means
‘sophisticated flavours’ and it didn’t disappoint! I was a bit dubious about
going to a restaurant with such a small menu because I like plenty to choose
from but there really was no need to worry, the food was fantastic and I would
happily say it is the best Indian food I have ever had! I am definitely more of
a dessert person so we skipped starters. However, this didn’t stop them
bringing along a pre-starter of potato and leek soup!
The waiters were extremely polite and professional and the
service we received was excellent. Our food came out pretty quick. Jessell was
presented with a chicken thigh in a spicy sauce and I went for the classic
butter chicken with rice – I apologise if the pictures make you feel hungry! I
have rarely wiped my plate clean but here, I was left wanting more because it
was so delicious!
We did feel pretty full but that did not stop us from
ordering dessert. Before however, we were
treated to a palette cleanser of raspberry iced sorbet and then we were ready
to go again! We decided to try the Zaika Chocolate Indulgence and it was
fantastic. Sometimes pictures speak louder than words.
All of the food was so wonderfully presented and together
with the brilliant atmosphere of the restaurant, it was definitely a memorable
meal. If you are ever in Kensington and love Indian food, please visit Zaika, I
highly doubt it will disappoint!
Love Always
xx
